App-a-Day: SoundCloud

Mike Mike Mike Mike Mike! Guess what day it is? Guess what DAY IT IS???

Happy hump day everyone! Just two more days until the new Avergers movie comes out! Two more days!! Anyways, it’s a beautiful sunny day here in downtown Burbank and today I’m excited to share another awesome app with you guys that I mentioned in an earlier post. Yep, you guessed it, today’s app is SoundCloud.

So this is the first week of App-a-Day and to start things off, I want to share with you guys some of the apps that I use the most. SoundCloud is one of those apps. It’s an app that I use just about every day because it’s just so damn great.

What’s so great about it you ask? Well, apart from the simplified and streamlined UI design and seamless mechanics of the app. What really makes SoundCloud great is its CONTENT.

Content is the stuff that keeps people coming back, content that users can’t find elsewhere. Unique or exclusive content, the kind that people are willing to go out of their way to find, is what makes SoundCloud what is is. Content is king.

The main reason I open SoundCloud instead of say Spotify or Overcast or even Pandora, is because the stuff I want is only available on SoundCloud.. so there’s not much of a choice.. Great design and ease of use is only a plus at this point.

Spotify has all the mainstream pop songs and Overcast has all the podcasts, but SoundCloud… Oh SoundCloud has all the crazy remixes and various alternative versions of that one song that you play on repeat over and over. It also has Double Toasted.. which I just happen to love so there’s that. I rest my case.

SoundCloud has the content. Amazing, unique, and underground content. It’ll never be as mainstream as Spotify or has genre focused as Overcast but it's a damn good app simply due to the fact that they have the stuff you can’t find anywhere else.
